The modern guitar is the product of a continuous process of evolution in musical instruments, the origins of which are all but lost in pre-history. The Meridian® series is the product of my own evolution as a guitar designer and builder. With the Meridian series I have built on the tradition of guitar design and manufacture by taking the tried and true aspects of the instrument as a whole and added or embellished upon certain aspects to bring them to the forefront of excellence.
The defining feature of the Meridian® series is the thru-neck tenon. In response to my own desire for a guitar with a classic appearance and all the benefits of neck thru design, I designed the thru-tenon neck. The full thickness top is set into the neck blank which runs the entire length of the guitar. The neck profile is carved all the way to the end of the fretboard, and the heel and cutaways are carved in to meet the neck profile. This requires time consuming handwork. Time well spent however, this extra carving “frees” the neck from the body and adds to the response and evenness of these guitars. Also notable is the ability of these guitars to dip into a large pallete of tones with minimal gadgetry. Available in solid or chambered body, The Meridian series embodies an instrument of contemporary classic design with instant attack, huge sustain, crystalline string to string clarity, limitless access to the entirety of the neck and extreme versatility.
